Overview:

We are a team of high schoolers in the Bay Area who recognize that our world is going through especially tough times. Two thousand twenty has been a rough year for us all. With the pandemic and other things happening around the globe, it is expected that our mental healths will suffer. Especially in the midst of quarantine, feelings of seclusion and loneliness are heightened. As of now, it is pivotal to focus on our world as made up of unique individuals, rather than simply dismissing our people into the larger population. As teenagers. we see our fellow peers struggling with their mental health on a daily basis due to numerous factors that include academic and peer pressure. Now, with the added load of this pandemic and the disturbing events that are regularly broadcasted on the news, we recognize that it is crucial to pay attention to our mental health. We hope, that with the platform created by Mission Mindset, we can reach out to individuals who feel trapped in the cycle of stigmas and societal pressures, or merely feel lost while struggling with their mental well-being. In addition, we also acknowledge that several developing countries - such as India - grapple with mental health taboos and suffer from an extreme lack of awareness and resources due to the same. To aid the growing crisis in India, we look to help willing organizations and nonprofits by donating to their cause, and ask our audience to support our fundraiser as well. By raising awareness and interacting with such people through our advice column, we hope to make this medium a safe and approachable place for anyone that seeks one.

“Remember, you are not alone. We are in this together... there is Hope.” —Deepika Padukone

Common Misconceptions

Common Misconceptions

When India is mentioned, rich festivities and diverse cultures come to mind. Negative stigmas and the countless taboos regarding mental health that linger over the residents of India, are seriously overlooked. For centuries, mental illnesses have been looked down upon in developing countries, and efforts to reform these beliefs are often equally shunned. However, as these efforts become increasingly widespread and supported by a larger community of those who've been reformed, slurs surrounding mental health are gradually being belittled. To contribute to this reform we have created a fundraiser of our own. The provided link will take you to a fundraiser set to raise money on behalf of The MINDS Foundation. All proceeds will go towards strengthening the foundation itself, to increase efforts of spreading awareness on this sensitive topic.
